HYGIENE CENTRE

Cameco Community Partner Radio Ad January 2026
When Hygiene Means Dignity
No one should have to choose between buying food and buying basic hygiene products. Yet for many people in Northumberland County, that choice is real.
The Rose Quest exists to make sure people can care for their health, dignity, and families—without compromise. Through our Personal Care Community Cupboard and outreach programs, we provide essential hygiene items like menstrual products, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and more to people facing poverty, crisis, or homelessness.
We’re Growing
The need for hygiene support in our community is rising quickly. Since the pandemic, our outreach has doubled, and we are now operating at full capacity.
To continue meeting demand—and to reach more people—we are building The Rose Quest Hygiene Centre: a centralized space that allows us to collect, store, customize, and distribute hygiene products more efficiently and more widely across Northumberland County.
The Rose Quest Hygiene Centre
The Hygiene Centre is a multi-phase project designed to grow alongside community need.
Phase 1: The Warehouse
A dedicated warehouse space will allow us to:
- Store larger volumes of donated and purchased hygiene products
- Customize care kits for different needs
- Support more partner organizations and communities
- Increase efficiency and reduce costs per person served
This phase relocates our current operations into a larger, centralized facility.
Phase 2: Expanding Reach & Education
With increased space and capacity, we will:
- Expand services beyond Port Hope and Cobourg to communities across Northumberland County
- Support more schools, food banks, charities, and community cupboards
Community Classroom
- A welcoming space for hygiene, health, and wellness education
- Training and outreach for individuals, families, and partner agencies
- A hub for volunteers and community connection
Phase 3: New Programs
As the Centre becomes fully operational, we will introduce new, specialized programs, including:
- Seniors-specific hygiene support
- Indigenous-focused programming that respects cultural needs and practices
Our Impact
With the Hygiene Centre fully operational, we expect to:
- Support approximately 2,000 people each year
- Distribute over 25,000 hygiene items annually
- Reach communities across Northumberland County
- Educate and engage community members through in-person and virtual programming
This growth allows The Rose Quest to operate year-round and respond more quickly to urgent needs.
How You Can Help

The Rose Garden
The Rose Garden represents the different levels of support that make the Rose Quest Hygiene Centre possible. Each level reflects how a donor’s generosity helps the Centre grow, expand, and sustain its impact in the community.
Every gift—at every level—plays a role in ensuring people in Northumberland County have access to essential hygiene products when they need them most. Together, these levels form a garden of support that allows the Hygiene Centre to take root, thrive, and serve with dignity.
Together, we can ensure that no one in our community has to choose between food and personal care.
