2017 Kit Outreach Day
Yesterday was our Kit Outreach Day. Unfortunately over half of our volunteers had to opt out due to work, sickness etc. at the last minute. So it came down to myself, my sister Jules, and our dear friend Michelle.

We took with us:
– 20 kits
– over 100 pieces of food (gummies and bear paws)
– 12 pack case of small water
– 10 knapsacks/bags
– 1 sleeping bag
– 14 baseball hats
– 3 reusable water bottles/coffee cups.
– 10 tarps.
– 6 McDonald’s free drink coupons.

We did our usual square around Union Station and were able to find 4 people. One man was sitting on the corner of Front street already completely soaked from the rain. He chuckled when we offered him water, looking up at the sky. Despite the weather, he was incredibly grateful to take everything we offered him.

2016 Kit Outreach Day
Watch Video [HERE]

Today we went out on our first Kit Outreach Day of the year. We have been trying since February, but due to freezing temps and illness this was the first time a bunch of us were able to get out. We took 40 kits with us (18 gender neutral, 17 men, and 5 women kits), 23 baseball hats, a case of 24 pack water (generously donated by Michelle Eyman), 30 juice boxes (donated by Tyler Martyn), 25 knapsacks/tote bags, 12 tarps, 113 food items (granola bars, gummies, bear paws, etc.), 9 rain ponchos, and 5 milk bag mats and pillows generously donated by Michael’s Milk bags.

We had some people stop and stare at us and a few people even asked us what we were doing. While waiting for the train in Oshawa, a young girl (maybe 7 years old) came up to me more

2015 Kit Outreach Day
The very first Kit Outreach event was open to the public to come with us to walk around and hand out street kits. Thank you to “Michael’s Milk bags” not only for their participation but for donating 16 mats to go with our kits. Thank you to all those who donated to make this possible. Thank you to the following volunteers who walked around for 8 1/2 hours in the dark to find people to help and carried all of the items necessary to help them: Debbie Wilton, Jules Wilton, Michelle Eyman, Buddy Guy, and Celina Gallegos.
